Thales Coaching Intervention

We recently partnered with Thales, a global leader in technology and cybersecurity, to empower and support students from underrepresented backgrounds through an exciting coaching intervention.

Together we designed a bespoke 90-minute virtual coaching session to help apprenticeship applicants understand and excel in the Thales Assessment Centre process, supported by 1:1 mock interview practice.

 

Through tailored and thoughtful insights, group tasks and facilitated conversation, this intervention was designed to equip participants with the skills, tools and confidence they needed to succeed in the apprenticeship recruitment process.

I also felt less nervous being a girl going into a male dominated field and that I would be a meaningful member of a team at my apprenticeship.

Case Study

Student had applied to Thales for a degree apprenticeship in Engineering as a school leaver in Year 13, and signed up for the Upskill Me Coaching Session as she felt nervous about the Assessment Centre stage of the Thales recruitment process. She wanted to improve her confidence and understanding ahead of the real assessment in order to ‘present the best version of herself.’

 

The student was put at ease by the Upskill Me team who communicated clearly the exact structure and expectations of the session. Though the practise session was challenging, she felt ‘encouraged to speak my ideas’ and the personalised tips and advice ‘massively helped in the real thing.’

 

The student felt the Coaching Session ‘helped me find my voice within a high pressure situation’ and encouraged her to confidently communicate her thoughts and opinions in the real Assessment Centre. The Coaching Session was ‘massively useful in helping me stand out,’ and she was able to perform to the best of her ability as a result of attending.

 

The student has accepted a Degree Apprenticeship offer from Thales as an Engineer, and felt that the Coaching Session built her confidence, boosted her performance and ultimately helped her ‘secure an offer from Thales.’ She plans to utilise her newfound skills and knowledge to navigate herself through any future high-pressure environments that may arise in her professional career.
